Silicon carbide bricks are high-grade refractory bricks made of silicon carbide as the main raw material after mixing with high purity silicon carbide powder and high-activity silicon carbide, and forming by slip casting followed by recrystallizing under high temperature vacuum.

The content of silicon carbide in silicon carbide brick is 72%-99%. Generally, the silicon carbide bricks are produced by using the black silicon carbide with SiC content of 96% or more as the raw material, adding the bonding agent (or without bonding agent), and then batching, mixing, moulding and firing. The main crystalline phase is silicon carbide. The main varieties include oxide bonded silicon carbide bricks, carbon bonded silicon carbide bricks, nitride bonded silicon carbide bricks, self-bonded silicon carbide bricks, recrystallized silicon carbide bricks and semi-silicon carbide bricks. Silicon carbide bricks have the characteristics of good wear resistance, good erosion resistance, high-temperature strength, good thermal shock stability, high thermal conductivity, small thermal expansion coefficient, so they are high-performance refractory materials. In addition, silicon carbide bricks have high thermal conductivity, good wear resistance, thermal shock resistance, and erosion resistance. Therefore, they are widely used in different industries. They can be used in teeming ladle lining, nozzle, plug, blast furnace hearth and bosh, non-water cooling slide rail of heating furnace; distiller for non-ferrous metal smelting, rectification column pallet, electrolytic tank sidewall, crucible for metal smelting; refractory slab of silicate industry kiln and flame barrier material; oil gas generator in chemical industry, and organic waste combustion furnace; aluminium cell lining for kiln furniture of high-tech ceramics, molten aluminum conduit and furniture for ceramic kiln, the hearth and bosh of the large and medium-sized blast furnace, aluminum refining furnace lining, and zinc distillation tank lining.
